چکیده

Binary black hole coalescence produces a finite burst of gravitational radiation, which propagates toward quiescent infinity. These spacetimes are analytic about infinity and contain a dimensionless coupling constant M/s, where M denotes the total mass-energy and s is an imaginary distance. This work introduces a globally convergent Fourier series in a complex radial coordinate, allowing spectral representations of black hole spacetimes in all three dimensions. This method circumvents singularities associated with black holes and includes infinity, thereby avoiding the need to impose radiative boundary conditions. We illustrate this representation theory on Boyer-Lindquist initial data of two black holes and a scalar wave equation with signal recovery by Cauchy's integral formula.

Asymptotic Quasinormal Frequencies for Black Holes in Non–Asymptotically Flat Spacetimes

The exact computation of asymptotic quasinormal frequencies is a technical problem which involves the analytic continuation of a Schrödinger–like equation to the complex plane and then performing a method of monodromy matching at the several poles in the plane. While this method was successfully used in asymptotically flat spacetime, as applied to both the Schwarzschild and Reissner–Nordstrøm s...

Black Holes with Zero Mass

We consider the spacetimes corresponding to static Global Monopoles with interior boundaries corresponding to a Black Hole Horizon and analyze the behavior of the appropriate ADM mass as a function of the horizon radius rH . We find that for small enough rH , this mass is negative as in the case of the regular global monopoles, but that for large enough rH the mass becomes positive encountering...

Colliding Axion-Dilaton Plane Waves from Black Holes

The colliding plane wave metric discovered by Ferrari and Ibañez to be locally isometric to the interior of a Schwarzschild black hole is extended to the case of general axion-dilaton black holes. Because the transformation maps either black hole horizon to the focal plane of the colliding waves, this entire class of colliding plane wave spacetimes only suffers from the formation of spacetime s...

Enhanced Geometry Fluctuations in Minkowski and Black Hole Spacetimes

We will discuss selected physical effects of spacetime geometry fluctuations, especially the operational signatures of geometry fluctuations and their effects on black hole horizons. The operational signatures which we discuss involve the effects of the fluctuations on images, and include luminosity variations, spectral line broadening and angular blurring. Our main interest will be in black ho...

The electrogravity transformation and global monopoles in scalar-tensor gravity

The electrogravity transformation is defined by an interchange of the “active” and “passive” electric parts of the Riemann tensor. Such a transformation has been used to find new solutions that are “dual” to the Kerr family of black hole spacetimes in general relativity. In such a case, the dual solution is a similar black hole spacetime endowed with a global monopole charge. Here, we extend th...
